Last week as forest fires raged in Southern California Glenn Beck said,
“I think there is a handful of people who hate America. Unfortunately for them, a lot of them are losing their homes in a forest fire today.”
That’s a pretty horrible thing to say. From the Winston-Salem Journal,
“Wildfires in Southern California, which have destroyed more than 2,000 homes…The fires have killed 14 people and burned 809 square miles from the Mexican border to Los Angeles.”
Not only did people lose their homes, they lost their lives. But Glenn Beck somehow wants to make a point that people are being punished because they are living in a blue state, home of Hollywood where all those liberals dwell. Glenn Beck has a popular syndicated radio program along with a show on CNN Healine News as well as being a contributor to Good Morning America. How did this guy become so popular when time after time he spews this kind of vitriolic language? He has portrayed himself as a regular guy who is against the “political correctness” that is eroding our society. He has fooled his listeners and viewers. Glenn Beck is what is wrong with society.
Generally, if a liberal disagrees with a conservative, the liberal will hope that someday the conservative will see the light and do the right thing. If a conservative, like Glenn Beck, disagrees with a liberal or liberals; he wants them to be punished. They should be hurt. All enemies of the conservative need to be killed. Conservatives like to label their enemies. They look for new enemies. They like to make enemies of their own countrymen/women if they express dissent against the conservative government.
So it’s not surprising what Glenn Beck said about the people in California who lost their homes. It’s surprising that he’s still on the air. It’s surprising that anyone would support, listen or watch this fool. At the very least Glenn Beck is the “Buffalo Chip of the Week.” At his worst his stage for his right-wing misinformed hate spewage is ruining what remaining decency this country has left by deceiving the public. If a gorilla escaped from the zoo and broke into Beck’s studio and proceeded to pull Beck’s pants over his head and bitch slapped him into next week I wouldn’t really be that happy. I’m a liberal…I hope someday he’ll see the light and do the right thing.
