Ron Paul is the “Buffalo Chip of the Week.” (11/12-11/18)

Ron Paul is looney

Two weeks ago Ron Paul raised over $4.2 million dollars in one day. This would indicate that this Republican candidate for president is growing in popularity. He does have this weird lunatic following that is ever present on the internet, trolling sites like digg.com and reddit.com. His followers flood these sites with positive Ron Paul articles and blogs. They attack anyone who is anti-Paul with the veracity of a Doberman tearing into a raw t-bone steak. I know because I’ve been swarmed by these people when I’ve posted on digg and reddit. I assume they’ll be coming here to spam this site with their righteous Ron Paul rhetoric. Maybe I’ll actually get some traffic.

The fact of the matter is Ron Paul is not who people think he is. He’s an anti-war Republitarian. He’s right on one issue. Let’s get out of Iraq. Good. But he’s just a Libertarian in Republican’s clothing. What’s worse is he’s a nut job fringe politician who accepts money from Neo-Nazi groups. He’s the white supremacist’s candidate. Check it out here. The Ron Paulbots are going to say it’s guilt by association. No. He hasn’t given the money back. Even racist David Duke endorses Ron Paul. You have to wonder why all these wackos like Paul so much. Well, It’s because he says some crazy things that tap into the beliefs of these hate based groups. From David Neiwert of firedoglake.com,

“Paul continued that politically sensible blacks are outnumbered “as decent people.” Citing reports that 85 percent of all black men in the District of Columbia are arrested, Paul wrote:”Given the inefficiencies of what D.C. laughingly calls the `criminal justice system,’ I think we can safely assume that 95 percent of the black males in that city are semi-criminal or entirely criminal,” Paul said. Paul also wrote that although “we are constantly told that it is evil to be afraid of black men, it is hardly irrational. Black men commit murders, rapes, robberies, muggings and burglaries all out of proportion to their numbers.”

That’s pretty bad. Here some more from Neiwert’s article,

“The embrace of extremist beliefs also includes Paul’s views on education: just as he’d like to eliminate the Fed and the IRS, he’d also like to do away with public education. He’s an avid supporter of the Alliance for the Separation of School and State, and has been since its inception.”

Are you ready to volunteer for this nutty curmudgeon? If you are still not convinced that Paul’s views are crazy and dangerous. Here’s a quote from the “white nationalist” website Stormfront from a diary by “Pen” on dailykos.com,

“[Ron Paul] is the least toxic candidate by leaps and bounds. On issues particularly important to White Nationalists or the Pro-White in general, of all of the mainstream candidates:

— Ron Paul is the strongest opponent of “Hate Crime” Laws.

— Ron Paul is the strongest opponent of Amnesty and “open border” movements.

— Ron Paul wants to end birth-right citizenship for the children of illegal immigrants.

— Ron Paul is the strongest opponent of welfare programs that among other things, would redistribute the income of White families into the hands of lazy non-Whites.

— Ron Paul is the strongest opponent of Globalism and all attempts to create a North American Union.

— Ron Paul is the strongest opponent of military support and foreign aid to countries like Israel.

— Ron Paul is the least likely to support government crackdowns on Pro-White organizations, and the most likely to veto such measures.”

Pen described Paul as “bat-shit crazy.” Pretty accurate. He is the false messiah of the neo-progressive right. Being anti-war doesn’t give you a free pass as the candidate of new ideas. If you are a real progressive you should dump this idiot and forget you ever believed a word he said. Did I mention that he is a obstetrician who’s against pro-choice? People are throwing money and time away on this kook. His views are just wrong. Ron Paul is the “Buffalo Chip of the Week” and beyond.

I may be a little late to the party, but your analysis is wrong. Dr. Paul has demonstrated that he does not share the same beliefs of the “neo-nazis” that support him, and giving their money back to them would be stupid. What do you think they’d do with it? I don’t know about you, but I’d rather that money be in the hands of someone like Ron Paul than back in the hands of David Duke and his ilk. Many “white supremacists” support Dr. Paul for his stance on border security and birthright citizenship, neither of which are out of the mainstream. Rather than simply asserting your opposition, why not provide a viable argument against them?

His position on the Fed is grounded in reason and sound Constitutional principles. He predicted long ago that removing the gold standard from our currency would result in rampant inflation and government abuse. Even Alan Greenspan shares Dr. Paul’s position that gold based currency is better than fiat money, and they agreed that the Fed should have a sunset clause in its charter that requires it to be continually re-approved. If that makes Ron Paul looney, then what does it say about Greenspan?

The IRS is an innefficient bureaucratic institution that exists primarily to pay down the interest on our ballooning national debt, which Dr. Paul has been a constant opponent of. Bringing our troops home, not just from Iraq, but from the other hundreds of overseas outposts around the world they are currently deployed to would save a lot of money and our enourmous budget and debt would become much more managable.

Finally, while he is personally pro-choice, he has repeatedly taken the position that it is not a federal government matter. STATES should be the ones to determine proper medical procedures, as the 10th amendment and Ron Paul says. Considering the President swears to uphold the Constitution of the United States, it would be wise to verse yourself in what it says before trying to determine who the best President would be, don’t you agree?

Candidates give money back to those they don’t want support from. It is the right thing to do. They do it all the time.

As for your other points you provide no documentation to back up your claims.

How is Ron Paul’s campaign doing? Has he locked up the nomination yet? If he’s so mainstream he should have grabbed the Republican nomination.

The Ron Paulbots have given me a hard time on other websites when I have posted against his ideas. Forgive me if I’m gloating. I’m glad Paul can drift back to obscurity. The country will be a better place with him out of the limelight. Libertarians should be angry with him since they donated so much money to him without any results. They had to pay taxes and donate to a dud campaign. What a waste of money.
